In October 2024, Zishi Liu joined an extraordinary lineup of musicians at the Longy School of Music for the Asian Music Concert: Celebrate Our Shared Asian Heritage. Set in the historic Garden Street campus in Cambridge, this vibrant event brought together 18 performers and a diverse array of instruments—including tenor saxophone, piano, vibraphone, strings, rhythm section, and both male and female vocalists.

Spanning genres from jazz and pop to folk, rock, and ballad, the concert highlighted the richness of Asian musical influence across cultures and generations. Liu’s presence added depth and nuance to the ensemble’s sound, blending his improvisational voice with a broader musical narrative of identity, unity, and celebration. The evening was a powerful tribute to community, collaboration, and the ways in which music can transcend borders.
